The three main elements of the programme
1. Annual career development dialogues
Annual career development dialogues are intended to support the junior researcher’s current and potential future employment and career opportunities, both at MGMT and beyond.
The dialogues provide an opportunity to make career perspectives visible and clear, and to support junior researchers in identifying and developing their career opportunities.
Once a year the junior researcher (postdocs and non-tenure assistant professors) will have an annual career development dialogue with the Head of Early Career which is mandatory. The dialogue will normally take place after the annual Staff Development Dialogue (SDD). If the junior researcher wishes, this may be supplemented by an initial conversation before the SDD.
Tenure track assistant professors will also be offered an annual career development dialogue after the SDD. Participation is voluntary for tenure track assistant professors exept, the dialogue offered after two years of employment, which is mandatory.
Career clarification takes place at the annual Staff Development Dialogue with the immediate manager (PI or Head of Section).
2. Professional development, organisational integration and well-being
The programme supports the junior researcher’s individual professional identity and interests within teaching and research, while also strengthening their professional integration and development at MGMT.
This includes opportunities to build professional relationships and networks at department, section, unit and cross-organisational level, as well as other relevant academic and professional connections.
The aim is to support the junior researcher’s professional development during their employment at MGMT and, at the same time, strengthen their opportunities for future employment and career development.
As part of this, the department has a mentor programme for all postdocs and assistant professors.
3. Early Career Network
The programme supports social and professional network activities organised by MGMT junior researchers.

Target group: Postdocs and assistant professors
Researchers in fixed-term positions can join the Junior Researcher Association. Members receive a newsletter and can participate in the association’s activities and courses.
