New PhD student at MGMT - Blanka Tóth
Hi everyone!
My name is Blanka, and I am one of the new PhD students here at the Department of Management. I’ll be part of the SIM section, supervised by Darius-Aurel Frank and Helle Alsted Søndergaard.
I’m originally from Hungary, but after finishing my Bachelor’s in Commerce and Marketing, I decided to change the scenery and move to the land of eternal sunshine: Denmark. I then completed my Master’s degree in Marketing here at Aarhus BSS. Inspired by the academics around me I decided to pursue a PhD. I’m very glad that this next chapter will also keep me in Aarhus for the next three years.
When I came across the special call on decoding Danish companies’ innovativeness from a consumer perspective, it immediately sparked my interest. I’ve always been fascinated by consumer psychology, consumer behaviour and responsible marketing. How firms engage with societal issues is something I care deeply about. I also find it important how marketing can support the inclusion and representation of underrepresented groups, and how consumers respond to these efforts.
My research project will focus on responsible innovation from the consumer perspective, including how consumers perceive firms’ responsible innovation, what shapes these perceptions, and how they may translate into consumer responses and firm performance.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, especially books about dinosaurs, pirates and classics of English literature. I also like staying active by playing padel and doing Latin dances, particularly salsa and bachata. I’m also very into music, so if your taste happens to stretch from Bollywood movie soundtracks to Native American pan flute music and all the way to rock, feel free to stop by my office (1832-475) and we can probably find something to listen to.
I look forward to getting to know all of you!
