New PhD student at MGMT - Özgür Ak
Hello everyone!
I am Özgür, and I’m delighted to be appointed as a new doctoral researcher at the Department of Management. I am also affiliated with the Danish Centre for Studies in Research & Research Policy at the Department of Political Science.
With dual master’s degrees in Social Data Science and Communication & Culture, my experience bridges academic research and industry practice across the globe over the years. My interests touch on economic sociology, structural inequalities, research policy, network science, cultural evolution, and creativity. To analyse these complex dynamics, I combine large-scale dataset curation, inferential statistics, causal inference, machine learning, natural language processing, and classification algorithms.
My doctoral research, as it currently stands, aims to examine economies of worth in science, investigating how institutional support and selection shape value, performativity, and epistemic inequality across Nordic public institutions, grant funders, and universities.
If you are reading these lines as a colleague at AU or beyond and our research interests align, or my research topic excites you, come by to say Hi or drop a line!
