New PhD student at MGMT - Ida Marie Friis Nakskov
Hi everyone!
My name is Ida, and I just started as a PhD student, and I am very excited to embark on my academic journey here at the Department of Management, where I am going to research ethical AI in the healthcare sector, supervised by Jonas Valbjørn and Susan Hilbolling.
Some of you might recognise me from your classes. I hold a Master’s degree in IT, Communication, and Organisation (ITKO) from the department, which I completed in 2020, and during my studies I was also involved in various teaching activities. Throughout my Master’s degree, I became deeply interested in how organisations adapt to emerging technologies and how these impact the surrounding organisational practices. Pursuing a PhD has always been in the back of my mind, and after five years of working with IT systems outside academia, specifically in Systematic and in Region Midt, I am thrilled to return to my roots and deep dive into research and teaching.
In my PhD project, “How to be more than just hype: Implementing artificial intelligence in healthcare through the lens of ethics”, I will qualitatively study how AI can be implemented in healthcare through an ethical approach. The project integrates insights from the theoretical fields of implementation, ethics, and AI through dedicated cases from Aarhus University Hospital. Ultimately, the project seeks to guide future implementation efforts in healthcare by bringing ethical considerations to the forefront.
Outside of work, I live in an architect-designed 1960s house in Viby with my husband Christian and our two kids, Aksel and Esther. The kids make sure that I stay grounded and remind me daily that life rarely follows a predictable script. I spend a lot of my time renovating the house, which gives me a nice hands-on counterbalance to the world of academia. I also enjoy winter bathing at the local club at Marselisborg Harbour. And whenever family life allows, I love going to concerts and exploring interesting food spots.
I am looking forward to meeting all of you, and you are welcome to reach out if you are curious about my upcoming research, winter bathing, music, or something completely different
