Helle Neergaard - Knight of the Order of Dannebrog
On 5 November, Professor Helle Neergaard was awarded the Knight of the Order of Dannebrog (Ridder af Dannebrogsordenen) in acknowledgement of her remarkable contributions to academic scholarship and the field of entrepreneurship.
Helle Neergaard has been a full professor of entrepreneurship at AU since 2011. Her research focus includes gender in entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education and qualitative research methods, and she has published more than 100 articles, books and book chapters, often in internationally recognized journals, on these subjects. Her latest appointment as Distinguished Senior Innovator at AU emphasises her commitment to advancing the entrepreneurial field, especially our understanding of female entrepreneurs. Her scientific contributions have led to several awards and external grants, including a 21 million DKK grant from The Danish Council for Strategic Research for the project ’PACE - Promoting A Culture of Entrepreneurship’. Among other, Helle has received the prestigious ’European Entrepreneurship Education Award’ from Swedish Steen K. Johnson Foundation and ’The Distinguished International Scholar Award’ from The Irish Academy of Management. Over the years, Helle has developed an extensive international network and held various editorial roles.
Besides her profound academic influence, Helle is well-known at MGMT for her commitment to the organization. After having been Head of Section for a number of years, she is now Head of Early Career Development, offering support and assistance to junior colleagues. We appreciate Helle as a competent and hard-working colleague, who is kind and empathic and always willing to share experiences and expertise. Congratulations!
