AUFF grants for MGMT researchers
Good news came in from AUFF last week. Three small AUFF NOVA grants and two international mobility grants came in for MGMT.
AUFF NOVA
Associate Professor Helle Alsted Søndergaard - DKK 679,000
‘Biodiversity in the Corporate Strategy Process’
As biodiversity loss accelerates, the private sector plays an essential role in halting further decline. Firms are increasingly expected to develop nature and biodiversity strategies despite lacking the necessary expertise. This project investigates how companies navigate this profound knowledge gap by exploring how they access and integrate biodiversity-related knowledge into corporate strategy processes. And how these strategies affect their capacity to contribute meaningfully to biodiversity protection and conservation.
Professor Polymeros Chrysochou - DKK 718,000
‘Ideological Signals in Corporate Sustainability: A New Frontier for Predicting Firm Performance’
This project examines how political framing in sustainability reports influences firm performance. Using text analysis of S&P 500 reports and experimental studies, we assess which ideological tones enhance outcomes and how shareholder ideology moderates these effects. The project delivers a validated tool for measuring ideological tone and provides actionable guidance for firms, investors, and policymakers on navigating the political dimensions of ESG communication.
Professor Jakob Lauring DKK 720,000
‘AI agency in inclusive human-to-human organizational interaction’
AI is increasingly present in everyday collaboration, yet we know little about how it shapes interaction between humans rather than simply interaction with technology. This project investigates when AI tools that assist communication help diverse group members feel genuinely included, and when inclusion may weaken if supportive behaviour is suspected to be machine-generated rather than human. It examines both AI that enhances human sensitivity and AI that substitutes for human contribution in conversation.
AUFF INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY GRANTS
Associate Professor Mai Skjøtt Linneberg
Mai has received AUFF funding of DKK 239,904 for a research stay hosted by Professor Melissa Nursey-Bray at Adeleide University, Australia in the autumn 2026. The purpose is to share knowledge related the connection between people, companies, and environmental sustainability. The main interest will be on how organisations develop sustainability practice and they will initiate joint work on how alternative types of knowledge related to climate and biodiversity can be integrated in companies.
Assistant Professor Sarah Bruhs Sørensen
Sarah has been awarded an AUFF grant of DKK 240,000 to undertake a prolonged research stay at Melbourne Business School, Australia’s leading management research institution. During the stay, she will collaborate closely with Professor Glenn Hoetker and colleagues at MBS to advance her research on "Complex configurations of governance and capabilities in interfirm collaboration". The project investigates how diverse governance-capability profiles drive performance, resilience, and sustainability in buyer–supplier relationships—critical challenges for organizations navigating an increasingly volatile global economy.
