The SIM Section invites you to a SIM research seminar, where Svetlana Bogomolova from the Flinders University, Australia, will visit our department and give the following presentation:

Food for all: using marketing expertise to improve food relief services

Abstract: This talk will provide examples of application of social marketing and food marketing to situations where food is not available for all – food insecurity. Centre for Social Impact at Flinders University has been undertaking a research program to improve consumer experiences and outcomes for people who access food relief services. The talk will share examples of the research undertaken using customer journey mapping, expert interviews and co-design methods, and reflect on how this knowledge can advance both – the field of food relief services, and broader marketing discipline knowledge.

Bio: Professor Svetlana Bogomolova is the Inaugural Deputy Director of the Centre for Social Impact (CSI) at Flinders University – a node of a national research concentration internationally recognised for driving social impact research and implementation.

Svetlana leads a team of mix-methods researchers specialising in co-designing and evaluating social and health programs through end-to-end engagement with consumers with lived experience of disadvantage and practitioners who serve those communities. Her particular interest is the role of food (and food relief) in overcoming social inequalities and creating pathways to wellbeing for all. Svetlana has led numerous competitively awarded research collaborations with a range of industry stakeholders, including international, national, state, not-for-profit and private organisations. She has published in marketing and cross-disciplinary.
