Few people have had an impact on research, teaching, and knowledge dissemination at Aarhus University that matches Finn Frandsen. After employments at Aarhus School of Business (since 1987) and Aarhus University, he was promoted to full professor in corporate communication in 2004. He was a co-founder and leader of the Centre for Corporate Communication at Aarhus University established in 2001.

Among numerous contributions to communication research, Finn may be most well-known for shaping the area of crisis communication, establishing himself as a global authority in the area. He is widely known for his work in this field. According to Pure, Finn has 369 publications of different types since 1978 (!), and he is still an active writer. Together with Winni Johansen, he received a distinguished scholar lifetime award from the European Public Relations Education and Research Association (EUPRERA) in 2021.

Beyond his academic accomplishments, Finn is celebrated for his engaging and inspiring teaching style. His engagement with students and the practitioner world, notably through the co-founding of four study programs within strategic/corporate communication and the executive Master in Corporate Communication and his influential role in the Danish communication profession, is highly regarded. His receipt of the prestigious KOM-pris (together with Winni) highlights the significant mark he has made in the field. Known for his humour and optimistic outlook, Finn's personality has always been as vibrant as his professional life. His contributions to academic discussions are often peppered with cultural and philosophical references ranging from French and German philosophers of the 19th century to modern-day popstars. Finn has always been a great and well-liked colleague able to bring energy and, not least, a positive atmosphere to the research environments he has been part of.

Everyone is welcome!
