The new Danish Holiday Act came into force on 1 September 2020, and you can now take holiday as you earn it – i.e. 2.08 holiday days per month of employment, totalling 25 days of holiday per year. The holiday year runs from 1 September to 31 August (12 months), and the holiday period runs from 1 September - 31 December (16 months).
As for the special holidays, there are no changes: You accrue 5 special holidays from January - December (the calendar year). The special holidays must be taken in the period 1 May - 30 April (the following year).
By logging on to https://medarbejdere.au.dk/, you can see how much holiday, including special holidays, you have accrued and the expected remaining days of holiday.
If you have accrued the right to take full holiday with pay, and you do not inform your absence administrator - as soon as possible and no later than two weeks prior to the pre-scheduled holiday - that you would like to reschedule your holiday, the 5 weeks of holiday and the 5 special holiday days will be registered as follows:
Holiday year 2020/2021
(holiday period 1 September 2020 – 31 December 2021)
Special holidays
Holiday year 2021/2022 and onwards
Special holidays:
(If you have not accrued full holiday entitlement, the accrued days of holiday will be registered according to the above-mentioned principles).
The department will regularly check the status of outstanding holiday entitlements.
Please note that - for accounting reasons - your holiday registration in AUHRA should now be made before or in the month of the actual holiday, and that no changes can be made to your scheduled holiday after it should have taken place; with one exception: you can make changes to the days of holiday around Christmas until 5 January.
Absence administrators at MGMT: Jonna, jpe@mgmt.au.dk (if your first name begins with A-K) and Lisbeth, liw@mgmt.au.dk (if your first name begins with L-Z/Å).
