On 18 November 2017, SOL Master student Christian Degn Vester was awarded with the Golden Bird at an event organised by Studenterlauget (SL). This award is given to a student at the master's level who has demonstrated great academic results, inspiring social skills and appears as a role model dedicated to developing his potential and always wishing to make extra efforts to reach the goal.

Students are nominated for the Golden Bird by fellow students or teachers. Nominated students are assessed by a company (this year Vestas) which has received information on grades, CV, and an application from the students. The three best students are invited to a job interview including a 10 minutes presentation of themselves and their abilities.

Vestas' arguments for awarding Christian were the following: 'Christian’s academic results speak for themselves. His academic skills have been recognised through his membership of the talent network Nova 100. Apart from his academic engagement, he has also shown his qualities in regards to social relations. For example he has been mentor for exchange students, been a member of the study panel for his study programme, and represented Denmark at the ASEF Young Leadership Summit in Seoul in September 2017.'

Congratulations to Christian!
